The Solar Eclipse is on Sunday, September 21 at 2:53 pm CDT in 29° Virgo. Virgo's gift is the application of logic to solve the puzzles and organize the patterns of our lives. One of the highest aspects of Virgo is unselfish service. With so much solar power from the eclipse, check the balance and ensure you are not ignoring your own needs while in service to others.
The intensity of Virgo's attention to detail will be heightened by the eclipse's opposition to Neptune and Saturn. This will create a drive for perfection that is unobtainable (Neptune) due to the reality that we live in a realm of imperfection (Saturn). In general , we all need to be working on self-improvement, not trying to fix everyone else.
The Solar Eclipse in Virgo may deepen our love of books. Pay attention to the books you are drawn to at this time. Or consciously select a book to read that represents some idea or principle you want to bring into your year ahead.
I recently read and enjoyed "Ganesha Goes to Lunch: Classics from Mystic India" by Kamala Kapur. It's a modern retelling of stories about Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and, of course, Ganesha.
